We are permitted to accept only solid, non-hazardous waste materials including general garbage, food, yard and garden waste, etc.

Residential Recycling Collection

Recycle your cardboard, newspaper, tin cans and plastics in your BLUE recycle cart.

With our single-stream cart residential collection program, Loraas Disposal can help divert approximately 40% of your household waste from landfills. An easy and convenient way to divert your waste from the garbage stream and accomplish your commitment to recycling.

Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with our collection program. It is an easy and convenient way to demonstrate your commitment to recycling and protecting our environment.

When recycling, break down any cardboard and rinse containers and cans before putting in the cart.

General Guidelines

Each residential property is provided with one blue recycle and one black garbage cart.

Have your cart out by
7:00 am on collection day.

Collection equipment requires clear, safe access to your carts.

Please return your cart to your property by the end of collection day.

Cart lids must be completely closed for prevention of windblown materials. Over-filled carts with open lids may not be emptied.

You must be able to
close the lid without packing the cart too tightly, otherwise
the emptying of the cart will be more difficult.

In the event of severe weather, please leave your cart curbside. Loraas trucks will provide service as soon as possible after conditions have cleared.

Do not remove your cart from its assigned address.

Do not paint or mark your cart.

Inform the Village Office  of any damage, vandalism or theft of the cart. It is important to note the serial number stamped on the cart placed at your residence.

Please try to ensure your cart only goes out if it is full. Every tip costs the ratepayers.
