The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory has been hand-delivered to all affected properties.

❔Why This is Happening:

The Water Security Agency has issued a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory for the above listed areas due to water being isolated because of a water break that occurred over the weekend (repairs are taking place today.)

🧪Water Testing & Monitoring:
We will be conducting the required water quality testing following the repair and water being restored. This advisory will remain in effect until lab results confirm the water is safe to consume without boiling, and an official notice will be issued to lift the advisory.                   September 21, 2026

Water has been restored to all affected properties.
A Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory is in effect (see above post) until further notice.

📢UPDATE: Sunday, September 20

Repairs are scheduled for Monday morning beginning at 8:00 am. Water disruptions will occur until repairs are completed. Areas affected are:

• Grand Ave from 10th Street to Greystone Bay

• Hillside Place

• Hillside Road

• Valleyview Cres

• Helen Place

• Clare Way

• 1200 Block Highwood Ave

 A Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory may be issued once water is restored, and will be communicated to all affected residents prior to water being restored.

Residents are advised that the Village has identified a water break affecting the water system. Crews are currently working on the issue and taking steps to determine the extent of the break and address the problem.

As a result, water service may be shut off in the following affected areas:

• Grand Ave from 10th Street to Hillside Place

• Hillside Place

• Valleyview Cres

The Village will be working on contacting affected residents before the water is turned off.

The Village will also be working to arrange for contractors to complete the necessary repairs. Unfortunately, repairs will likely not be completed over the weekend, but arrangements are being made to have work completed as soon as possible.

Water is available for affected residents at the water treatment plant (on the north side by the front door).

We recognize that a water interruption is an inconvenience and appreciate everyone’spatience and understanding while crews work to resolve it.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

 RATEPAYERS MEETING - THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Ratepayers Meeting. We had 42 residents in attendance, and we covered a lot of information again this year.

We appreciate the conversations, questions and feedback from those who attended. Our goal with these meetings is to continue building transparency, communication and understanding around the work being done within the Village.

For those who were unable to attend, we want to make sure you still have access to the information.  🚦NEW 3-WAY STOP NOW IN PLACE 🚦

The new 3-way STOP in front of the Village Office on Grand Avenue is now in place!

This intersection has changed from a 2-way Stop to a 3-way Stop. It is an important and very busy intersection, and unfortunately, far too many vehicles travel through without stopping, creating potentially dangerous situations.

The hope is that this change will help improve safety at the intersection and, most importantly, that everyone will slow down, stop at the signs, and take the time to look before proceeding.

Let's all do our part to keep our streets safe. 🛑

 🚧Guardrail Installation This Week 🚧

The Village has a contractor starting today installing a guardrail on Valleyview Cres. Guardrail installation will continue throughout the week in the following areas:
🚩1300 Block Highwood Ave
🚩Corner of Schwann Ave & Adair St
🚩Greystone Bay

🛑A new 3-Way STOP will also be installed in front of the Village Office. This new STOP is to improve traffic control and visibility in the area and provide an additional safety measure at this busy intersection. Please pay close attention to the new signage once it is installed and be prepared to stop. 🛑

This important safety work is being completed thanks to funding received through the SGI Traffic Safety Grant. We're grateful for the support that allows us to make these improvements to our roads and help keep our community safer.

Please watch for construction crews, slow down, and use extra caution when travelling through these areas. While construction is underway, some affected areas may be reduced to one lane.

 A friendly reminder to all that golf carts and ATVs must be operated in accordance with the Village's bylaws and all applicable provincial laws.

Golf carts are a fun way to get around our community, but safety and compliance are everyone's responsibility. Please take a moment to review Golf Cart Bylaw No. 06/2024 to make sure you are familiar with the rules.

ATVs are a great way to enjoy our community and surrounding areas, but responsible operation helps keep everyone safe and maintain positive relationships with our neightbours. Please take a moment to review Traffic Bylaw No. 3/16.

📢The Ministry of Environment has approved changes to recycling in the Province of Saskatchewan. ♻️

These changes will come into effect for the Village of Buena Vista residents on September 1, 2026. We encourage residents to read the attached material and visit the links in preparation for the changes coming. We will continue to send information as it is presented and will keep you informed as we approach the effective date.
