** UPDATE **Our street sweeper's brushes are feeling a little worn, and due to some maintenance hiccups beyond our control, it's just not doing the job our crew expects. So we are needing to give it a break and and some TLC before heading out for another round. We'll be scheduling a third round once everything's back in working order....they say the third time's a charm! We appreciate your patience!
Street Sweeping Alert - Wednesday, April 30!

Heads up Village people! Our Public Works crew will be out doing a second round of street sweeping tomorrow - Wednesday, April 30

Please help us make their job safer and smoother by:

🚗Ensuring your vehicle is moved off the street/easement

🚫Avoid parking on the streets/easement until sweeping wraps up by 4:00pm

⚠️Watching for the crew - slow down, give them plenty of space, and give a wave hello!

With your support, we can keep our roads looking sharp. Thanks for your cooperation - and for helping us continue to sweep away winter's mess!

Street Sweeping - Round 1 Complete!

This initial sweep focused on removing the heavy buildup of sand, gravel, and debris that collects over the winter. It's not the final clean!

Trying to do everything in one pass can clog the equipment and leave a messy result - so the first round is all about clearing the bulk of it out of the way.

A second, more polished sweep will be coming. Thanks for your patience!

🚗Village Tip of The Day! 🚗

Heading around Highwood bend? Stay alert and keep to your lane! This sharp bend can be tricky, and drifting over your lane puts everyone at risk.

We're exploring ways to improve safety, but the biggest impact starts with YOU, the driver.

Slow Down
Stay in Your Lane
Watch for other vehicles, cyclists & pedestrians

🛑Bonus Tip: Traffic signs aren't suggestions - they are there for a reason and must be followed throughout the Village. Safe driving is everyone's responsibility. Let's work together to keep our roads safe!

Elm Tree Ban

Did you know it's illegal to prune elm trees from April 1 to September 30?

This ban helps prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease, a deadly fungal infection carried by elm bark beetles.

What You Can Do:

Wait until October 1 to prune elm trees

Dispose of elm wood properly - do not store or transport it. Take it to the landfill, where staff will advise where to place it & will dispose of it properly

Protecting our elm trees is a community effort! Share this to help spread the word ....not the disease!
