🚲E-Bikes Are Cool – But Safety is Cooler! 😎

We love seeing our community out and about – especially our youth! But lately, we’ve noticed some risky riding with more e-bikes showing up in our community. This puts everyone at risk. Let’s make sure fun doesn’t turn into danger.

It’s important for all riders – especially youth – to understand and follow the rules of the road. E-bikes are not toys, and misuse can lead to injuries, fines and serious consequences.

🛑SGI Regulations for E-Bikes in Saskatchewan::
✅Riders must be at least 14 years old
✅No driver’s license or registration is required
✅A helmet approved for cycling or motorcycling is mandatory
✅Maximum speed: 32 km/h on level ground
✅Electric assist motor that is no larger than 500 watts
✅Must follow the same rules of the road under The Traffic Safety Act
✅E-bikes are not allowed where municipal bylaws prohibit their use - currently Buena Vista does not have a bylaw banning e-bikes – and we’d love to keep it that way. But that depends on how safely & responsibly riders use them.

Let’s keep e-bikes safe & welcome in our community by making smart choices every time we ride. Because if safety keeps getting ignored…..a bylaw could be next.

Pay by July 31 & a get a 10% discount on the municipal portion!

📨Cheque - mail it or drop it in our after-hours slot at the Office front door (keep an eye out for any postal delays)

Our old mower gave it all it had (and then some), but it was time for a fresh start. No more coaxing through another summer, less downtime, fewer repairs, and way more mowing magic!
This new mower means cleaner cuts, faster jobs, and way more time to enjoy our beautiful green spaces. 🌳

Heads Up, Villagers - We're Flushing!

It's time to give our water system a spring cleaning! Crews will be flushing hydrants on May 21 & 22, so you might notice brief drops in pressure or slightly discoloured water - it's all part of the process.

A few helpful tips:

💧Use water sparingly on those days between 8:00 am -4:00 pm
👕Hold off on laundry - unless you're going for that rustic, rust-tinted look
🪣Fill some water jugs in advance for drinking and cooking
💦Run cold taps if your water looks off - things should clear up quickly
